Xform Games Wiki
Welcome to the Xform Games Wiki, created by passionate fans of the indie-game company. This is the place to go to, if you want to find out everything about the company and everything it has done in the past. Since this is just the home page, if you want to get started, click here.
Established by Comrade on March 13, 2016 on Fandom, it was later handed to Lumius on November 23, 2018. On April 15, 2024, the wiki was moved over from Fandom to wiki.gg, with IsM1ku and Shiny taking it over.
There had been many other contributors, with people like MacoixIT, RayHwang1771, Gagarsa05, M.B, Harma22, Enders200, IsM1ku making up the top spots in the rankings. Obviously however, without disregarding any other contributions made by other people that are not named here.
Outsourcing has played a crucial part in accumulating as much knowledge as possible on all sorts of things, therefore gameplay footage made by channels like Burnin' Rubber, Mylemium1060, and GameplaySP123 in particular, has been extremely useful as well.
Rules
Given by our To-do list that you can look up, there is still alot left to cover, despite all the efforts at covering alot of information. If you want to become a contributor, you are welcome to do so. However, we would also like you to take in consideration a couple of rules before you get going.
- Keep up the visual format found in similar pages in the same category when creating a new page, for an overall consistent browsing experience.
- Do not unfoundedly remove information to your liking and avoid adding false or unconfirmed information.
- Make sure to use informative and objective language, avoid using ''You'' and use ''The player'' instead, avoid adding opinions.
- Apply proper spelling and grammar to all pages that are created, and revise already existing pages. In case, there is any need to.
- Avoid adding pictures of modifications for any game onto any pages, as this is not a wiki for unapproved modifications of any sort.
Patreon
In 2017, web games became unplayable due to unsupported plugins, affecting titles like Burnin' Rubber 4 on sites like Shockwave.com.
On January 15, 2019, Xform Games initiated a Patreon campaign, offering various membership levels from $1 to $100 per month. Donors receive benefits like free games and credits.
Revenue from the campaign is used to create standalone versions of old browser games. Xform has since released numerous standalones on platforms like Itch.io for purchase or with ads on portals like Crazy Games.
History
Early days
Xform, founded in 2004 by Pieter Albers and Diederik Groesbeek, originated from their shared passion for classic action games played on the Commodore Amiga during their time at the high school of art university in Utrecht. Their debut project, The Hammer; a third-person shooter, aimed to replicate the experience of Grand Theft Auto III in a browser-based format. Despite initial challenges with optimization, they persevered, taking on simpler non-3D game projects for clients to sustain their efforts.
Growing together
Over the years the team grew, expanding their portfolio with games like Burnin' Rubber, Traffic Slam, and Rally Point. They attracted new talent and garnered recognition, particularly among younger players, fostering a loyal community on the official Discord server. Despite successes such as Go Kart Go! Ultra!, Rally Point 4, and Rhino Rush Stampede, their ventures into mobile gaming (Super Hammer, Burnin' Rubber: Crash n' Burn, Rally Point 5) and children's games (Wungi Pirates, Wungi Knights, Kitty Cats) didn't bring lasting fame or fortune, leading to their eventual removal from the market.
Sorting things out
In recent years, Xform downsized, focusing on strategy reassessment. With fewer staff came reduced costs and game output, transitioning to extending Man Or Monster and remastering Burnin' Rubber 5. They began releasing standalone versions of titles like Burnin' Rubber 3 and 4, salvaging web game classics. However, constrained budgets led to a noticeable lack of original releases. Resorting to asset recycling, as seen in World Soccer 2018, Burnin' Rubber: Cartapult, and Zombie Choppa, sparked criticism.
The future
Consequently, they launched a Patreon page for funding, aiming to produce more standalone versions and improve future games by minimizing asset recycling. Positive reviews followed, particularly for titles like Police Pursuit 2 and Race Day Rampage. Additionally, funds from Patreon will support the development of Burnin' Rubber 6.

Projects
Published projects
This chart shows all projects that were released at some point throughout the history of Xform as a game company. This does not include projects before it was an official development studio, not to mention that there is little to no information about them anyway.
Republished projects
This chart shows all projects that were released again as a part of Xform's plan to save the games they made in the past from not being playable anymore. This is mostly financed with the help of the Patrons, who donate a specific amount of money to Xform every month, depending on which subscription plan they choose.
Projects written in Adobe Director or Flash do not get rewritten from scratch in Unity WebGL, which would allow them to be put on the web for free. As a result, they are only available as paid standalones. Projects written in Unity Web instead are easily brought over to Unity WebGL, allowing them to be free web games, along as paid standalones.
